Of fairies and angels and Indian mythology…

with one comment

A peek into the heavens beyond…that’s what I saw this morning, did you? A sure relief after Monday morning nightmares.
Rainbow angels flying around with colourful strips, which they simply wove across the skies. With wings of pure gold, pretty butterflies and birds rolling around in the sky, these fairies were just my kind of people. All it took for them to create magic was a handful of gold dust and little star twinkies.
Suddenly, in the clouds, there was a gate…to paradise perhaps. And beyond were gardens with the most beautiful flowers, flamenco dancers, waterfalls, fruits of all kinds and pure streams of joy. Beyond the gates was music, love and beauty…all child-like expressions of joy, in the soft morning sun.
But the sun warmed to its noon like majesty. The child grew into a woman and was chased around by her amorous lover. All she did was flee and shy away, much like the mythical Radha and Krishna.
And soon, the sun mellowed and matured her feelings from that of a flirtatious Radha to Meera’s unquestioning devotion.
A wondorus glimpse into the many ‘rasas’ or emotions of human beings being depicted through dance.
Perhaps, this too was a dance-drama oft witnessed, except the stage was set in the clouds and the rest was pure fantasy!Or was it?
